How to Find the IP Address of a Remote Computer

Many of us may be curious to know how to find the IP address of your friend’s computer or to find the IP address of the person with whom you are chatting in Yahoo messenger or Gtalk. In this post I’ll show you how to find the IP address of a remote computer in simple steps.

I have created a PHP script to make it easier for you to find the IP address of the remote computer of your choice. Here is a step-by-step process to find out the IP address.

1. Download the IP Finder script (IP_Finder.ZIP) that I have created.

2. Open a new account in X10Hosting (or any free host that supports PHP).

3. Extract the IP_Finder.ZIP file and upload the two files ip.php and ip_log.txt into the root folder of your hosting account using the File Manager.

4. You can rename the ip.php to any name of your choice.

5. Set the permission to 777 on ip_log.txt.

Now you are all set to find the IP address of your friend or any remote computer of your choice. All you have to do is send the link of ip.php to your friend or the person with whom you’re chatting. Once the person click’s on the link, his/her IP address is recorded in the file ip_log.txt.

For your better understanding let’s take up the following example.

Suppose you open a new account in X10hosting.com with the subdomain as abc, then your IP Finder link would be

You have to send the above link to you friend via email or while chatting and ask him to visit that link. Once your friend clicks on the link, his IP address will be recorded along with the Date and Time in the ip_log.txt file. After recording the IP address, the script will redirect the person to google.com so as to avoid any suspicion.

To find the recorded IP address check the logs using the following link.

The sample log will be in the following format

79.92.144.237 Thursday 07th of May 2009 05:31:27 PM
59.45.144.237 Thursday 07th of May 2009 05:31:28 PM
123.92.144.237 Thursday 07th of May 2009 05:31:31 PM

NOTE: You have to replace abc with your subdomain name.

4 EASY WAYS TO ACCESS THE BLOCKED SITE

In some places such as schools, offices or cafes there are sites like Facebook, Friendster, Youtube and others are deliberately blocked by the admin with a specific reason. But with a little trick, We can access or open the blocked sites. Here are some steps:

1. Using the IP address
Every time we browse the Internet almost all of them typing the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) such as google.com, youtube.com. URL used to distinguish a web address and of course all sites have a URL that is not the same, except that the URL can facilitate internet users to remember the web address on the internet. But the computer does not understand the format like a URL, the computer can only read the IP address to be able to access and communicate with each other website on the internet.

Sometimes sites are blocked sites are stored URL address or just block the URL address just so that if accessed through its IP address can still be open. To find the IP address of a website we can ping a website via command prompt, once known IP addresses, type the IP address into the browser.

2. Redirect URL via urlShortener service
Convert a site URL address in block with short URL services like SnipURL, goo.gl, or bit.ly. This trick can bypass the blocking admin setting.

3. Using the online Proxy
Some sites provide free proxy service which we can access the website through their servers, the most frequent site I use is hidemyass.com. Although it’s free but not disappointing.

4. Using a proxy in your browser
Lots of sites that released a list of proxies from various countries. To get the proxy list that can fit in looking at samair.ru, select one of the proxy. Open firefox-> click tools-> select options-> select advanced-> select the network-> click the settings button-> Connection Settings window will appear select Manual proxy configuration: -> enter the IP address of the proxy and its port and press OK.

How To Hide Text In Images (Steganography)

Steganography is the art and science of hiding information by embedding messages within other, seemingly harmless messages. Steganography works by replacing bits of useless or unused data in regular computer files (such as graphics, sound, text, HTML, or even floppy disks ) with bits of different, invisible information. This hidden information can be plain text, cipher text, or even images.

By using this trick your text will get hidden into any image of your choice without increasing its size or without reducing its quality. Your data will be encrypted in the image with RC_4 encryption plus SHA hashing. So, there is no need to worry that it can be easily cracked by anybody.

Here is the tutorial with trick on how to hide text in images for free:

First download imagehide software. Its a freeware utility for hiding text in an image: Click here to download imagehide

The interface of Imagehide is very simple .Once it is installed all you have to do is to load the image in which you want to hide your text (Steganography) type the text and hit the Write data option. You can also password protect the text so that it can only be opened with the help of a password.

Once you have completed the above steps then you can send the image to your friend and he/she can only open it with the imagehide software and the password that you have used. Once opened with imagehide the text can be read by your friend. So use Steganography for more secure communication.

Features of ImageHide

Hide loads of text in images (Steganography)
· Simple encrypt and decrypt of data (old Ver 1.0)
· See how much data you can add in bytes
· No increase in image size
· Image looks the same to normal paint packages
· Get past all the mail sniffers
· New Version 2.0
· Better Encryption
· Now uses RC_4 encryption plus SHA Hashing
· Hashed Passwords (now in image)
· loads and views Ver 1.0 files
· Now knows Version and if encrypted or not
· Can now print the images
· Save Image files as BMP or PNG
· Can use many different image formats

The imagehide is freeware and supports all Windows OS, like Windows 7, Vista, and XP.

E-Mail Tracing

Email Tracing is the process in which one can see, from where the mail was came, Not only that one can check if phishing is being applied or Not, via this method one can check the original source from where mail is coming but also being given that the mail is contains any phishing page attached to that.

This method follows some steps.

  1. open your mail account.
  2. open the mail who’s path you want to trace.
  3. Click on show details, to see the full address details.
  4. Check the Return path.
  5. Follow step 1 and 2 in the image below to see the original message.
  6. Check for the Return path in the original message.

IF Return Path of STEP 4 is not Same as in STEP 6, Then there is Phishing or The mail is FAKE.
